Local stdio
Playwright
Microsoft's Playwright MCP server. The model drives a browser through the accessibility tree instead of screenshots.
This is a local stdio server: npx @playwright/mcp@latest. It needs Node.js 18 or newer. There is no auth token because the process runs on your machine and opens a browser.
The Playwright project also ships a CLI plus skills path that uses fewer tokens for coding agents. Use this MCP server when you want a persistent browser the model can inspect. Pin the package version once you have a build you trust, instead of leaving @latest in place forever.

{
"mcpServers": {
"playwright": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["@playwright/mcp@latest"]
}
}
}Client config shape varies. Cursor and Claude Desktop use mcpServers. VS Code often uses servers. The values above are the part that matters.

- None. The browser session is visible to the model, so do not sign into accounts you would not show it.
